SportSims.net is counting down to the start of the NFL season with analysis of the teams to determine this year’s legitimate Super Bowl contenders. By using historical data and keen football analysis, SportSims.net shares their picks for the SportSims Super 32 over the next week for the top teams this season and why.
When researching historical NFL statistics, player performances and team make-up, SportSims.net identified the key elements to all Super Bowl teams throughout NFL history. Steve Olson, president of SportSims.net, said, “We researched all of the teams and recognized a pattern in all of the Super Bowl teams. We used what we learned to design our online franchise football simulation. Now we are applying it to this year’s NFL teams.”
What SportSims.net discovered was that all successful teams require eight star players, ProBowl level, in key positions: four on offense and four on defense. Without an elite athlete in each and every one of these key positions, the team had no real chance of going to the Super Bowl. Olson added, “These eight players form the backbone a championship-caliber team. Without all eight stars, a team should not be considered a true Super Bowl contender.”
