AFC East Division Analysis

Buffalo – 4 of 8. The Bills run a Balanced Offense which require elite players at quarterback, halfback, and two offensive linemen. Their defensive strategy is a 4-3 which requires two defensive linemen, a linebacker and a defensive back. Currently the Bills have only four of their eight stars: QB Trent Edwards, HB Marshawn Lynch (but with off-field issues), DL Marcus Stroud and DB Dante Whitner. Andy Levitre, OL and Paul Posluszny, LB both have potential, but are not there yet.

NY Jets – 5 of 8. The Jets run a Run First Offense which requires exceptional talent at quarterback, halfback, and two offensive linemen. Their defensive strategy is a 3-4 which requires a defensive linemen, two linebackers and a defensive back. Currently the Jets only have five of their eight stars: OL D’Brickashaw Ferguson, OL Nick Mangold, DL Kris Jenkins, LB Bart Scott, and DB Kerry Rhodes. Mark Sanchez, QB and Vernon Gholston LB do have potential.

New England – 8 of 8. The Patriots run a Pass First Offense which requires elite players at quarterback, two wide receivers and an offensive lineman. Their defensive strategy is a 3-4 which requires a defensive linemen, two linebackers and a defensive back. The Patriots have all eight of their stars: QB Tom Brady, WR Randy Moss, WR Wes Welker, LT Matt Light, NT Richard Seymour, WLB Adalius Thomas, ILB Jarod Mayo, and SS Brandon Meriweather. New England has a fantastic shot at the Super Bowl.

Miami – 8 of 8. The Dolphins run a Run First Offense which requires exceptional talent at quarterback, halfback, and two offensive linemen. Their defensive strategy is a 3-4 which requires a defensive linemen, two linebackers and a defensive back. Miami has all eight of their stars: QB Chad Pennington, HB Ronnie Brown/Ricky Williams, LT Jake Long, C Jake Grove, DT Jason Ferguson, WLB Joey Porter, ILB Channing Crowder, and SS Gibril Wilson. The Dolphins have no needs on their roster and have a shot at getting to the Super Bowl.
